About the School
Founded in 1937 by Ms. H. S. Oliphant, Welham Boys’ School began with a clear mission: to nurture young boys into confident, capable men. Over the decades it has grown into one of India’s foremost boarding schools for Grades IV–XII, balancing a rich heritage with a forward-looking approach. The school’s affiliation with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) ensures a strong academic foundation, while its long history and steady leadership have created a stable environment where learners feel secure to explore and grow.
Beyond academics, Welham Boys’ places equal emphasis on character, creativity, and critical thinking. Students are encouraged to pursue diverse interests—sports, performing arts, clubs, community service and more—so they graduate as multi-dimensional individuals. The school actively fosters curiosity and out-of-the-box thinking, helping boys develop the confidence to take initiative and the discipline to follow through on their goals.
Carrying forward Ms. Oliphant’s founding vision, Welham Boys’ School remains rooted in tradition yet open to new ideas. Its campus life, mentor-led guidance, and extracurricular programmes work together to produce graduates who are not only academically competent but also socially aware, globally minded, and driven to make meaningful contributions. In short, Welham Boys’ prepares young men for the challenges of today and the opportunities of tomorrow.
